The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service (AgriLife) will conduct a Vector & Public Health Pest Control Training May 12 in Presidio, according to AgriLife Today.
“The workshop curriculum will include training on mosquito identification, biology, ecology, control tactics, trap usage, surveillance and control,” said Jesse Schneider, AgriLife Extension agent. “An overview of vector-borne diseases of concern in Texas will also be presented as will a discussion on other biting insects.”
Continuing education units—three for structural and five for agriculture—will be offered for pesticide licensing through the Texas Department of Agriculture and animal control. A total of 4.75 animal control continuing education hours will also be available.
