Macie Clugston of Callisburg joins Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) Communications division as the summer intern.
Clugston will graduate from Texas A&M University in December with a bachelor of science in Agricultural Communications and Journalism. After graduation, she hopes to attend graduate school and continue her education in Agricultural Communications.
While at Texas A&M University, Clugston was a member of the Dr. Joe Townsend ’67 Leadership Fellowship and active in service opportunities like The Big Event. She was a member of Aggie Sisters for Christ and served on the leadership team.
Clugston also works as a community assistant for The Reserve, a student-living property.
In high school, she was a member of the Callisburg FFA chapter. She raised market barrows, competed in public speaking events and ended her career serving as a state FFA officer in 2016-2017.
As a Texas FFA state officer, Clugston devoted a year to agricultural advocacy and leadership with the student-led organization. She traveled to different schools in Texas and facilitated workshops and events on agriculture and youth leadership.
During her career as a state FFA officer, Clugston became active with TFB.
She volunteered in TFB’s exhibit at EarthX in Dallas, an annual event held on or near Earth Day that is dedicated to exploring environmental and sustainability issues.
She was also a member of a panel that discussed the future of family farms during the event.
Her college career and experiences through FFA helped Clugston find her passion—agriculture. She hopes this summer is full of growth in her professional skills and experience.
“Agriculture is in my earliest memories, and it is the one thing I have always loved,” she said. “I am excited to expand my agricultural knowledge with Texas Farm Bureau this summer.”
