Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) Mini Ag Institute will offer agricultural science teachers practical experience in agriculture-related concepts, and they can take away curriculum for use in their classrooms.

The Mini Ag Institute will be a shorter version of TFB’s Summer Ag Institute and up to 16 hours of continuing education credits will be awarded.

The seminar will focus on a science lesson and highlight curriculum and resources provided by TFB.

A half-day field experience with a local farmer, rancher or agricultural operation will also be part of the program.

“This is our first year to offer the Mini Ag Institute, and we’re excited about being able to accommodate and reach more teachers,” Jett Mason, TFB director of Educational Outreach, said. “We’ll talk about agriculture on a large and small scale. The workshop will cover the diversity of Texas agriculture and how it plays a role in our lives and in our classrooms.”

The two-day Mini Ag Institute will be held in Huntsville and cost $125.

RSVP by June 12. More information and registration is available online at texasfarmbureau.org/aitc.
