The web series so eye-catching, mouth-watering and travel-inspiring it should come with a napkin-required warning is back and better than ever.
Last year, Beef Loving Texans and the Texas Beef Council (TBC) took viewers on a cross-state, meat-filled journey with the first season of BBQuest featuring host Kelsey Pribilski.
“It was a travel and food show that went to Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio and just talked about food culture, barbecue and how much of an integral part of being Texan brisket and beef really is,” Rachel Chou, TBC senior manager of Consumer Communications, said in an interview with the Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) Radio Network.
In addition to taking viewers to sometimes off-the-beaten path locations, BBQuest explores secret menu items like brisket chocolate chip cookies and includes visits to sites that make traveling Texas unique.
“We’re really excited to say BBQuest will be live streaming on Hulu starting (this month),” Chou said. “We’re just really excited that an even larger audience will be able to see BBQuest.”
The show features renowned chefs and well-known pitmasters and creations like brisket fried rice, brisket waffle fry nachos, brisket Cesar salad and green chile mac and cheese with brisket.
“BBQuest is a really fun show to produce but also just a really fun show to watch,” Chou said. “We got to learn about secret menu items at some of the best barbecue restaurants all across the state, so it really expands people’s ideas of barbecue and how beef is incorporated into barbecue and some innovative things that pitmasters are doing all across the state.”
The first season has garnered enough views to fill more than six-and-a-quarter years’ worth of watch time.
“It’s been incredibly successful, not just for Beef Loving Texans, but for Texas farmers and ranchers all across the state that are really just producing awesome, excellent beef for consumers,” Chou said.
The first season of BBQuest is available on the TBC YouTube channel, on BeefLovingTexans.com and on Hulu this month.
The season two release date will be announced later this year.
TBC’s newest ad campaign, For All Plates of Life, also begins this month.
“We’ll be doing streaming TV advertisements and digital advertisements. We’re really excited to bring beef to the very diverse Texan audience and showing folks that no matter your life stage, no matter your flavor preferences, there is an answer for all of your food needs with beef,” Chou said.
