A series of workshops focused on regenerative ranching and adaptive grazing will be held in Texas and surrounding states this year.

The Noble Grazing Essentials and Noble Land Essentials courses are offered by the Noble Research Institute, the nation’s largest independent agricultural organization with a commitment to assisting farmers and ranchers in exploring and implementing regenerative management practices.

Noble Land Essentials course
The Noble Land Essentials course is a comprehensive two-day, hands-on program combining classroom instruction with field demonstrations. Farmers and ranchers will learn how to grow more nutritious forage from fertile soils, build drought resilience while mitigating flood risk and boost ranch productivity with long term profitability.

“The Noble Land Essentials course is focused around helping producers manage more in sync with nature. We spend time talking about how to enhance ecosystem processes using a series of principles which we call The Soil Health Principles,” Josh Gaskamp, regenerative ranching manager at Noble Research Institute, said. “We all have seen the rise in fertilizer prices and things like that, so this course is designed to help producers see what goals they have for their ranch and utilize Mother Nature to help achieve those goals.”

Topics covered include soil health monitoring, economic analysis, soil assessment, cost reduction planning, setting stocking rates and grazing goals for improved profitability.

Course dates and locations include:

  • 21-22 in New Braunfels
  • March 13-14 in San Angelo
  • April 3-4 in Edmond, Oklahoma
  • May 8-9 in Greenwood, Arkansas
  • May 16-17 in Stephenville

Noble Grazing Essentials course
Noble Grazing Essentials is a three-day course designed for farmers and ranchers of all experience levels to equip them with skills to identify variables and resources to consider in grazing plans. Participants will also learn how to determine the limiting factors of current grazing practices, develop a strategy to address forage production issues and establish goals for enhanced resilience and grazing production.

“The Noble Grazing Essentials course is designed to help producers begin to implement regenerative grazing or adaptive grazing practices on their operation,” Gaskamp said. “These courses are a great opportunity to get to know other farmers and ranchers, learn what they’re doing and what is working or failing for them. This is a great opportunity to network, see what regenerative grazing is about and how it can turn your operation into a more profitable ranch.”

Course dates and locations include:

  • March 8-10 in Waller
  • April 16-18 in Ardmore, Oklahoma
