TEXAS NEIGHBORS | SPRING 2019 Ingredients 1 lb. strawberries 1 ¼ c. flour 1 ½ c. heavy cream, chilled 4 tbsp. granulated sugar, divided 1 tbsp. brown sugar, packed 1 ¼ tsp. baking powder 1/3 tsp. salt Instructions • • • • • • • • • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Wash and slice strawberries. Stir together with 2 tbsp. granulated sugar. Cover and refrigerate. In a large bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Slowly mix in 1 cup of heavy cream to create a sticky dough. Divide the dough into four biscuits and drop on a lined baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 12 to 14 minutes or until tops begin to brown. Using an electric mixer, whip together the remaining cream and sugar to create a whipped cream topping.
