Moms. They are the glue that holds the family, and farm, together.

Affectionate. Reliable. Selfless. Moms will often sacrifice much for their families and the farm. Monsanto Company wants to recognize these women for their efforts and contributions to their family and community.

The company has opened nominations for the 2018 Farm Mom of the Year.

This year, Monsanto will select 10 women from different regions across the country as Farm Mom of the Year. The winners will each select a non-profit in their local community to receive $1,000 on their behalf.

Through the Farm Mom of the Year program, Monsanto honors the substantial contributions these women make on the farm, to agriculture, their family and their community.

Know a mom worthy of the title? Nominate them through Monsanto’s America’s Farmers website.

“From the outpouring of entries we’ve received thus far, it’s clear that farm moms are loved and appreciated by their families, students, neighbors and friends,” Consuelo Madere, America’s Farmers spokesperson, said. “I encourage everyone whose life has been impacted by a farm mom to visit AmericasFarmers.com and nominate her before the contest ends this month. It’s one small way to say ‘thank you’ and ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ to that extra-special farm mom.”

Each nomination must contain a short essay explaining how the nominee supports her family, farm and community through agriculture.

Click here to nominate a deserving farm mom. Complete the online entry form or mail in an application by April 30.

Nomination essays are limited to 300 words.
