Livestock producers have two important Texas A&M AgriLife Extension (AgriLife) conferences available this summer that will offer insights on production, marketing and disease management, among other topics, according to Southwest Farm Press.

A Beginner Rancher Education Program, scheduled June 9-10 in College Station, is free and open to those who entered the ranching business in the last 10 years. Learning new marketing opportunities will be a key element of the program. Click here for more information.

The 2015 Beef Cattle Short Course is set for Aug. 3-5 in College Station. Discussion will include a cattle market outlook and current supply and demand factors beef producers will want to consider in maintaining their operations.

Registration is $180 per person before July 30 or $220 afterwards, and includes educational materials, a copy of the 600 page Beef Cattle Short Course proceedings, trade show admittance, admission to the prime rib dinner and lunches, breakfasts and daily refreshments can be found on the short course website.
